Preparation
- Once accepted to the course, participants will be directed to an online platform where they will have access to basic information, articles, videos and other resources on inquiry-based learning (IBL). On this platform, they can learn about the basic principles of CSL, different inquiry models, question types, examples of activities and evaluation.
- Participants will receive a guidance document with case studies on CSO practices, lesson plans and evaluation tools.
- Prior to the course, an online meeting will be organized with the participants to share the course program, expectations, use of the online platform and other logistical information.
Course Description
This course aims to provide teachers, educators and education professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use an inquiry-based learning (IBL) approach. The course will provide detailed information and practical applications on the basic principles of CBL, different inquiry models, types of questions and questioning techniques, designing and implementing activities, student-centered approach, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, collaboration, evaluation and feedback.
Objectives of the Course
- To enable participants to understand the inquiry-based learning (IBL) approach and to grasp the basic principles of this approach.
- Recognize and apply different models of inquiry (e.g. 5E model).
- To develop techniques for asking effective questions and guiding students towards inquiry.
- To gain the skills to design and implement CSI activities.
- To ensure that students become active and responsible learners by adopting a student-centered approach.
- To develop critical thinking, problem solving and creativity skills.
- To be able to use evaluation and feedback methods effectively in CSO.

- Participants will be encouraged to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their own educational settings and to develop and share their CSO practices.
