Preparation
- Upon acceptance to the course, participants will be directed to an online platform where they will access basic information, articles, videos, scientific publications and other resources on sports physiology, training science, nutrition, injury prevention, rehabilitation and related topics.
- Participants will receive a guidance document with up-to-date information and practices on athlete health and performance.
- Prior to the course, an online meeting will be held with participants to discuss the course program, expectations, use of the online platform and other logistical information.
Course Description
This course aims to improve the health and performance of athletes by providing coaches, trainers, sports teachers, educators, sports club managers and all professionals working in sports with comprehensive knowledge and skills in sports physiology, training science, nutrition, injury prevention and rehabilitation. The course will provide detailed information and practical applications on topics such as energy systems, muscle physiology, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, training principles, periodization, nutrients, sports nutrition, injury mechanisms, first aid, rehabilitation protocols and sports psychology.
Objectives of the Course

- Participants will complete an online evaluation questionnaire at the end of the course and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the course.
- Participants will be able to stay in touch with each other and the trainers through the online platform after the course, share their experiences and get support.
- Participants will be encouraged to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their own field of work and to continue to develop themselves in athlete health and performance.

Cardio training and cardiovascular health

Respiratory capacity and training
Activity: Breathing exercises and breathing techniques
Training program design and periodization
Activity Preparing a training program for different sports branches
Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals
Activity Preparing and analyzing an athlete nutrition plan
Warm-up, cool-down, flexibility and strengthening exercises
Activity: Practice and demonstrations of injury prevention techniques
Physical therapy, manual therapy and exercise programs
Activity: Review of rehabilitation protocols and case studies
Stress management, confidence and mental training
